Butler Ballet Midwinter Dance Festival
February 11, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Featuring a bold combination of classical ballet and modern dance, the Butler Ballet’s Midwinter Dance Festival includes two exciting programs in repertory. As part of the evening performances of Program B on February 11 (7:00 p.m.) and February 13 (7:30 p.m.) and the matinee on February 14 (2:00 p.m.), you can watch a stage version of Riverrun, a StreamLines experience that brings to life scientific concepts and concerns about human intervention of our waterways.
Choreographed by Cynthia Pratt and performed by dancers from the Butler University Jordan College of Arts, Riverrun will be performed live a handful of times, including three times during the Festival at the Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts. The original live performance debuted at StreamLines: Launch last fall.
The festival features the world premiere of a new work by Canadian choreographer Lesley Telford along with guest performances by the Eva Jacz Dance Ensemble from Bratislava and works by resident choreographers Marek Cholewa, Patrick Hinson, Stephan Laurent, Susan McGuire, Cynthia Pratt, and Derek Reid.
